LOST and FOUND
Then out of the storm the Lord spoke to Job. – Job 38:1
When
Marlin heard the announcement that the last tram was leaving in about
an hour she got anxious. She was alone in a tourist spot in Brazil and
couldn’t find any of her officemates. The locals could hardly speak
English. And she wasn’t sure if she could commute to the bus station by
herself.
Amidst
her apprehension, she saw a nearby chapel and decided to pray. She felt
God’s assurance that He would take care of her. She opened a book
written by Bo Sanchez that she brought along and read some lines that
further confirmed God’s assurance. She stepped out of the chapel with
renewed confidence that God was with her.
When
she rode the tram, she met a tourist who was fluent in English. He
volunteered to accompany her to the bus station after giving her a quick
tour of the area. She safely arrived at her hotel and was thankful to
God for sending her a guide.
Trials
are like storms that are out to harm everything on its path. Our goal
as Christians is to take time to step out of the “storm” and wait
silently for God’s instructions and assurance. Alvin Fabella (alvinfabella@yahoo.com)

REFLECTION:
When
you are in the eye of the storm, look up and praise your God. For it is
written in Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in their war chariots and others in
their horses, but we trust in the power of the Lord our God.”
Lord, please guide and direct my path. For I know that even in darkness You are with me. Amen.
St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, pray for us.
