RIGHT TIMING
God has made everything appropriate to its time, but has put the timeless into their hearts… – Ecclesiastes 3:11
For
the past two years, I’ve been helping Bo Sanchez with his One True Love
Club (onetrueloveclub.com). This online membership gives its
subscribers a wealth of resources to help them find and wisely choose
their lifetime partners.
One of the regular things I do for the club is to answer the many
questions that members have about their love lives. A recent one I got
was from a woman in her mid-twenties asking if a guy she had known for
barely two weeks was the right one for her.
I told her that just as you can’t hurry a mango to ripen, so do you need to let love blossom in its own time.
Technology and our fast-paced life have made us impatient people.
Science has found ways to make plants bloom quicker, induce fruit to
ripen faster and allow us to travel farther at a shorter time. We want
things and we want them right now. We forget that we have to respect
time as well as the rhythm and pace of life.
God’s timing is perfect. After all, He sees the past, present and
future in one sweep. All things become beautiful in His time. Rissa Singson-Kawpeng (justbreatherissa@gmail.com)
Reflection:
“To live your best life now, you must learn to trust God’s timing. You
may not think He’s working, but you can be sure that right now, behind
the scenes, God is arranging all the pieces to come together to work out
His plan for your life.” (Joel Osteen)
Lord, teach me the wisdom of waiting upon You. Amen.
Sts. Cosmas and Damian, martyrs, pray for us.
