God’s Stock Market
“Her many sins have been forgiven; hence, she has shown great love.” – Luke 7:47
The
concept of the stock market always confuses me. Recently, someone tried
to explain it to me in a manner I could understand better. I was told
that the more investment you put in the market, the higher your chances
to gain more profit that you can reinvest in other companies. But there
is always a risk that you can lose some money on your investments.
That’s why you have to monitor the market trends and make sure that your
investment is still profitable.
Today’s Gospel reminded me of this concept. God invested so much love in us through His mercy and forgiveness. But not until we recognize and acknowledge His love and forgiveness are we able to share it with those around us.
There
is always a risk about loving others — we may be rejected, taken
advantage of or cheated. This might leave us frustrated and discouraged,
but this should not stop us from receiving and sharing God’s love.
As long as we make sure that we are in good relationship with God, then we can always give much love. Jane Gonzales-Rauch (mgr516@gmail.com)
REFLECTION:
You cannot comprehend the height, the length, the breadth of God’s love.
Lord God, let me live my life in the confidence of Your love. Let it flow out through me to others. Amen.
Sts. Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and Companions, martyrs, pray for us.
