TGFF: Thank God
For Family and
Friends
I am grateful to God …
as I remember you constantly in my prayers... – 2 Timothy 1:3
“Wow, we finally have a home!”
After months of searching and
fund-raising, we moved into a house to shelter our girls in Jeremiah
Foundation. It was a happy day, with a festive mood after the Holy Mass and
blessing. We had lots of food, fun and friends who shared our mission of caring
for the disadvantaged. The priest, the founding trustees, the benefactors —
everybody was there. Everybody — except my wife Myrna. She went home to the
Father a few months before the blessing of our new orphanage. As I looked at
the festive crowd, I said a silent prayer of thanks to God for my wife, for all
that she had done to make this dream a reality.
The living and the dead
journey with us. Thank God for all those who make our mission easier to bear.
During good and bad times, God is always with
us. He makes Himself present through the people He sends to work with us. Let’s
always remember those who touch our lives in inspiring ways. Rey Ortega (reylindo.ortega@gmail.com)
Reflection: Do you take time and effort to thank God for blessing
you with family and friends? When was the last time you thanked a friend for
small things done for you?
Lord God, because I am weak, please send me people to help bear my
heavy load. Your grace and their love give me strength to carry on.
