GETTING SERVED
WHAT YOU DESERVE
If in bed I say, “When shall I arise?” then the night drags on; I am filled with restlessness until the dawn. – Job 7:4
My coworker and I were consoling ourselves after enduring a harsh encounter with one of our company’s former employees. She was threatening to take the company to the Department of Labor and Employment after my coworker, the HR officer, calmly told her that her clearance could take a whole month to be completed. This was standard, but the irritable ex-employee felt like we were explicitly giving her a hard time, and she started barraging us with sharp accusations.
“It’s OK,” I told her. “Sooner or later, everything you say and do will find their way back to you.”
Remember Solomon who could have asked for all the wealth and power in the world, but asked for one that would help him and his constituents?
God was so pleased by his selfless heart that He gave him more than what he had asked for… because it was what he deserved.
So, instead of worrying about who will look after you, look after those around you first. It all evens out in the end. Ria Macasaet (ria.macasaet@gmail.com)
