What is the Lord asking from you right now? What are your “five loaves and two fish”? - Daily Bible Reflections August 3,2015

BOY ON A QUEST

“Bring them here to me.” – Matthew 14:18

Long time ago, there was a boy who was packing his lunch for a journey. It was one of unknown destination and length — all he knew was that he wanted to follow this Man everyone was talking about. He had just heard about Him all over town.
There was news of miraculous healings, spirits leaving at his command, even the dead coming back to life. The young lad knew he had to witness it.
He took everything he could – some water, a cloak and food. But all he had were five little loaves of bread and two pieces of fish. He then followed the vast crowd.
It was more than the boy could have imagined. The words this Master said, His way with children, His touch that set people free simply amazed him. Then one afternoon, as a multitude sat in groups without enough food to eat, the Teacher looked at him.
And for the first time, He addressed this young boy. “How much food do you have in your bag?” He asked.
The boy was enamored by His gaze. “Just five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus.”
And Jesus said, “Bring them here to me…” Lallaine Gogna (lallygogna@yahoo.com)

Reflection: What is the Lord asking from you right now? What are your “five loaves and two fish”?

Dear Lord, please remind me that just a little amount of “me” is all You need to make a miracle. Use me in every way. Amen.

St. Peter Julian Eymard, pray for us.
