Solemnity of the Nativity of
St. John the Baptist
CURRICULUM VITAE
All
the neighbors were filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of
Judea people were talking about all these things. Everyone who heard
this wondered about it, asking, “What then is this child going to be?”
(Luke 1:65-66)
As I entered high school, my relatives and teachers continuously
pressured me to get high grades or do extracurricular work because they
said it will look good on my resume.
Since then, making my resume look attractive has been a priority,
especially every time I do a consulting project, attend a training or
switch jobs.
The big question is, does that piece of document define who I am and what I’m worth?
This is what I believe: Even if you strip away everything — education,
career accomplishment, wealth and power — only one thing should matter.
That we know we are a child of God and, as His child, we are destined to
do great things. JPaul Hernandez (jpaulmh@yahoo.com)
Reflection: Who are you and who does God want you to be?
Abba, I surrender my totality to You. May I be who You designed me to be. Amen.
St. John the Baptist, pray for us.
