“Always be careful what you say. You can say you’re sorry, but you can never take back what you said.” (F.B. Newman) - Daily Bible Reflections October 17, 2015

DECLARE YOUR
DESTINY

“Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.” – Luke 12:10

On March 4, 1966, an article that appeared in the London Evening Standard caused an uproar. Journalist Maureen Cleave was doing a series entitled “How Does a Beatle Live?” and her encounter with John Lennon started a controversy that spread far beyond the London paper. “Christianity will go,” Lennon said. “It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that. I’m right and I’ll be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now. I don’t know which will go first, rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but His disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.”
It may be true that the Beatles were insanely popular then and are still famous now half a century later. But the gall to say that Christianity will vanish and shrink is simply repulsive! It’s been more than 2,000 years since Jesus was born and there is definitely no sign of Christianity vanishing or shrinking.
Be careful of the words you speak. It may make you popular now. But when you die, remember that you shall be accountable for every single word that comes out of your mouth. It will determine your destiny.Ronna Ledesma (ronna_ledesma@yahoo.com.ph)

Holy Spirit, teach me to speak only the words which men need to hear.
